Description
Three 24 karat gold-plated US Bicentennial commemorative coins, consisting of a Washington quarter, a Kennedy half dollar, and an Eisenhower dollar. Each coin features the dual date 1776-1976 and the D mint mark indicating production at the Denver Mint. The coins are presented in a US map-shaped clear plastic display holder featuring a red, white, and blue background. The case is inscribed with the text UNITED STATES BICENTENNIAL COINS and 24K GOLD PLATED. The coins feature standard obverse portraits and Bicentennial-themed reverse designs, including the colonial drummer on the quarter, Independence Hall on the half dollar, and the Liberty Bell superimposed on the moon on the dollar. The two-piece plastic holder is secured by four integrated plastic rivets.
Condition report:
The coins exhibit significant green verdigris and oxidation along the rims at the points of contact with the plastic holder. The 24 karat gold plating remains bright but shows minor surface toning and faint handling marks. The plastic display case has light surface scuffing and scratches consistent with age. Coins appear uncirculated prior to the gold plating process.
