Description
A trio of counter-height stools designed in the French Provincial style. Each stool is constructed from hardwood with a warm reddish-brown stain and features a three-slat ladder back with a shaped crest rail and contoured slats. The seats are composed of tightly woven natural rush. The base of each stool includes scalloped aprons and front cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. The legs are stabilized by a four-way stretcher system consisting of turned side and back stretchers and a square-profile front footrest. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the pieces.
Seat Height: Approximately 25.5 inches.
Condition report:
The set is in good, sturdy condition. Visible surface wear, scuffs, and minor finish loss are present on the wood frames, particularly on the front stretchers and legs consistent with age and regular use. The woven rush seats remain tight and intact with no significant fraying or breakage observed.
