Description
This contemporary table lamp was produced by Altamira and features a hand-painted botanical design. The piece consists of a tapered rectangular shade made of a stiffened parchment-like material finished in a deep cobalt blue. The shade is decorated with hand-painted yellow and orange budding branch motifs across multiple panels and is topped with a cast-metal finial in the shape of a botanical sprig. The lamp is constructed with a slender dark-finished metal stem accented with brass-toned decorative components. The base is made of ceramic with a moss green glaze over a terracotta clay body. The underside of the ceramic base is marked in ink with the inscription ALTAMIRA © 2008. The lamp is equipped with a modern clear-jacketed electrical cord and a two-prong plug. As with all used electrical items, it is recommended to have this lamp inspected by a qualified professional before use.
Condition report:
The shade features a significant vertical crack or crease in the material on one panel. The ceramic base appears to be in good condition with no visible chips or cracks to the glaze. The metal stem and finial show minimal surface wear. The felted underside of the base shows light dust and minor wear consistent with age and use.
