Description
A collection of modern hardcover fiction volumes, primarily octavos, issued by various major publishers between 1960 and 2011. The group includes four titles from the Earths Children series by Jean M. Auel: The Land of Painted Caves, The Valley of Horses, The Plains of Passage, and The Mammoth Hunters, all issued by Crown. Also included are The Pelican Brief by John Grisham (Doubleday), The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown (Doubleday), Texas by James A. Michener (Random House), Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand by Samuel R. Delany (Bantam), A Taint in the Blood by Dana Stabenow (St. Martins Minotaur), The Scorpio Illusion by Robert Ludlum (Bantam), Night Sky by Clare Francis (Morrow), The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller (Warner Books), and A Distant Trumpet by Paul Horgan (Farrar, Straus and Cudahy). Most volumes retain their original pictorial dust jackets.
Condition report:
The books show signs of moderate shelf wear consistent with age and use. Dust jackets exhibit edge rubbing, light bumping to the spine extremities, and occasional minor creasing. A Distant Trumpet lacks its original dust jacket, with the publishers cloth boards showing light wear. Spines are generally straight and bindings remain firm.
