Description
A miniature hand-knotted wool rug or sample mat featuring a Caucasian-inspired geometric design. The central field is a rose-tan color centered with a stepped geometric medallion in shades of teal, dark red, and gold. The field is enclosed by triple geometric borders, including a wide charcoal-colored main band featuring repeating cruciform motifs. The rug is finished with cream-colored cotton fringes at each end. The reverse displays a tight and consistent weave construction indicative of a high knot density for the scale. The item is composed of a wool pile on a cotton foundation.
