Lot 217:
Description
This original artwork by Nancy Perrotti is executed in watercolor and ink on cream-colored, handmade-style paper featuring prominent deckled edges. The composition depicts a whimsical, stylized floral arrangement emerging from a footed vessel decorated with a multicolored harlequin diamond pattern in shades of orange, blue, and pink. The floral sprig is rendered with delicate ink lines and vibrant washes of yellow, blue, red, and green, evoking the aesthetic of Pennsylvania German Fraktur and modern folk art. The work is presented in a professional floating mount that showcases the natural edges of the paper. It is housed in a dark teal-blue wooden frame with a gilded inner lip and protected by glass. The piece is signed vertically in ink “N. Perrotti” to the left of the flower pot. A label on the verso provides the artist’s name, telephone number, and the website for The Sunflower Gallery.
Frame Height: 11.25 inches
