Description
A two piece set of mid-century modern art pottery manufactured by Blue Mountain Pottery of Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. The set is composed of a tall lidded pot and a small bulbous vessel, likely used as a sugar bowl or small vase. Both items are made of red earthenware finished with a signature high gloss flow or drip glaze. The glaze features vibrant teal green vertical streaks over a dark blue-black base color. The pot has a tapered body with a long upward-sweeping spout and a D-shaped handle, topped with a matching lid featuring a pointed finial. The accompanying small vessel has a rounded, bulbous form with a restricted rim. The unglazed red clay bases on both pieces are incised with the maker mark consisting of a triangle with a stylized interior letter above the word CANADA.Coffee Pot Height: 10.5 inchesSugar Bowl Height: 3 inches.
Condition report:
Both pieces are in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The glaze remains highly reflective with vibrant coloration.
