Description
This contemporary Southwest-style decorative pottery disc was produced by Odyssey Creations of Phoenix, Arizona. The piece features a hand-painted or transferred design depicting two Kokopelli figures in a petroglyph aesthetic. The ceramic disc is formed with an irregular edge and a heavily mottled, textured finish in shades of ochre and burnt umber, designed to mimic the appearance of weathered stone or ancient hide. The disc is supported by a three-legged black metal stand that includes a stylized sunburst motif at the top. The reverse of the platter is stamped with a circular maker mark showing three figures and the text Odyssey Creations Phoenix, Arizona DESIGN ©. It also includes an original paper label with an artist statement describing the recreation of effects from fire, erosion, and time.Height: 21 inchesWidth: 23 inches.
Condition report:
