Description
This collection consists of 16 Matchbox Models of Yesteryear die-cast model vehicles produced by Lesney Products and Co. Ltd. in England. The vehicles are constructed with die-cast metal bodies featuring plastic details including wheels, canopies, and seating. The assortment includes a variety of early 20th-century automotive designs such as touring cars, roadsters, race cars, a motorcycle with sidecar, and a Lesneys Modern Amusements Steam Showman’s Engine. Specific models identified by underside markings include a No. 15 1907 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, a No. Y-12 1909 Thomas Flyabout, and a No. Y-14 1911 Maxwell Roadster. The collection is housed in a blue vinyl-covered hardshell carrying case with a molded plastic interior. Condition report:
The vehicles are in played-with condition, exhibiting varying degrees of minor paint chipping and dust accumulation. Light surface oxidation is present on some unpainted metal components. The motorcycle with sidecar unit is partially detached or bent. The carrying case shows signs of age and storage wear, including heavy creasing and light staining to the yellow front label, along with wear to the vinyl on the corners and edges.
