This lot consists of a yellowware mixing bowl and a diverse assortment of antique and vintage kitchen utensils. The primary item is a large, deep earthenware bowl with a flared rim, featuring a pale yellow glaze and decorated with two sets of horizontal blue slip-trailed bands. No maker marks are visible on the bowl. The collection of primitives includes various utilitarian tools from the mid-20th century and earlier. Metalware items include a rusted tin box grater, a flat metal grater, a wire potato masher, a metal sifter, a small metal scoop, two small nested metal cups, and a metal pastry wheel with a wooden handle. Woodware includes multiple wooden spoons of various sizes and a large, flat wooden dough paddle or board with pre-drilled holes. Several handheld tools feature painted wooden handles in green, red, and yellow/blue schemes. The collection also contains a blue enamelware measure and a glass thermometer with printed text identifying it as a Floating Dairy Thermometer. Condition report:
The yellowware bowl has a prominent vertical crack extending from the rim through the body, along with minor surface wear and small kiln stilt marks on the base consistent with age. The kitchen utensils show signs of significant utilitarian use. Metal components exhibit varying degrees of surface oxidation and rust. Wooden items show a natural aged patina and some drying. Painted handles exhibit typical wear and chipping to the finish.
