Description
This group of folk art figures depicts the nursery rhyme character Humpty Dumpty in a variety of styles and materials. The lot includes a large flat-profile articulated figure constructed of painted wood or composition board with movable arms and a fabric checkered bow at the neck. Two larger stuffed fabric dolls are included, one featuring a green plaid body and the other a red and tan striped pattern, both with hand-painted facial features and fabric bows. A solid-bodied egg-shaped figure, possibly composition or resin, features a hand-painted face and wears a green and white striped fabric bow tie with patterned fabric legs. The collection is rounded out by a small stuffed doll in patriotic Americana-themed fabric and a small painted composition figure with a sculpted white beard and mustache in a red and blue outfit. Also included is a miniature blue top hat accessory with a star-decorated band. All figures feature hand-painted eyes and integrated clothing designs consistent with handcrafted or small-batch folk art production.
