Description
An assortment of patriotic Americana folk art items primarily featuring stylized Uncle Sam figures. The collection includes several hand-carved and painted wooden figurines in diverse styles ranging from tall slender carvings to jointed figures. Additional items include a Black Americana cloth doll in a red and white striped outfit, animal figures in patriotic dress, miniature handheld flags, and a wooden drum with star and stripe motifs. Two framed items are present: a portrait of a tall Uncle Sam figure and a shadowbox-style frame featuring an American flag design composed of assorted vintage-style buttons. One carving on a wood-slice base is hand-inscribed on the underside with HANDCARVED # 97/1997 Charlene Cooper. A wooden bust carving is inscribed on the reverse with FROM THE SCRAP BOX UNCLE SAM BLOOM 92. The items are crafted from wood, fabric, and mixed media, utilizing a traditional red, white, and blue patriotic color scheme.
