Description
This is a hand-carved and painted folk art walking stick or hiking staff. The handle is intricately carved into a caricature bust of a man featuring prominent ears, a bald crown, and an open mouth displaying a single tooth. The figure is detailed with a white collared shirt featuring two applied white buttons and a red necktie with white polka dots. The shaft is constructed from a natural wood branch with a light-colored, possibly peeled finish that retains original knots and surface textures. The piece terminates in a black rubber ferrule tip. No signatures, maker’s marks, or labels are visible on the object.

Condition report:
The walking stick is in good overall condition with wear consistent with age and use. There are minor surface scuffs and small areas of paint loss on the carved handle, including a small red mark on the upper forehead. The wooden shaft shows light wear and minor surface abrasions.
