Lot 179:
Description
A wall-mounted primitive-style wooden shelf and peg rack. The piece consists of a long horizontal top shelf supported by three scroll-cut corbel brackets. Affixed below the shelf is a backboard fitted with six evenly spaced shaker-style wooden pegs for hanging coats, hats, or other items. The unit is finished in a distressed cranberry-red or burgundy paint, featuring intentional wear and gold-toned highlighting along the edges and raised surfaces to simulate an aged antique appearance. The design and construction are consistent with late 20th or early 21st-century decorative items produced in an Early American folk art style. The decorative “BASKET” sign and wall star shown in the background are not included with this item.
Condition report:
The item is in good structural condition. The finish is intentionally distressed as part of the aesthetic design; no significant unintended damage, chips, or repairs are visible. Size is 72x6x8 inches
