Description
A collection of porcelain dinnerware produced by the Theodore Haviland factory in Limoges, France. The pieces are decorated with a pattern of delicate floral sprays and swags in shades of pink, purple, and green on a white ground. The forms are characterized by scalloped rims and elegant curves, with handles and finials highlighted by brushed gilding. The underside of the pieces features a green underglaze factory mark consisting of a foliate symbol above the text Porcelaine, Theo. Haviland, Limoges FRANCE. The group includes a large oval covered tureen with a notched lid, a circular covered serving dish, dinner plates, saucers, and teacups.
Condition report:
The set exhibits surface wear consistent with age and use. There is visible rubbing and loss to the gilded accents on the handles, finials, and rims. A small chip is present on the rim of the tureen lid adjacent to the ladle notch. No other significant chips, cracks, or repairs are observed.
