Fine Online Estate Sale Auction, Private Residence Honey Brook, PA
Lot 59:
Description
This collection contains approximately 50 pieces of assorted silver-plated flatware and serving implements in various patterns, ranging from ornate Victorian-revival floral and scroll motifs to classic designs. The assortment includes a variety of spoons, dinner and salad forks, and knives. Specialty serving pieces are also present, including a ladle and a pie server. One knife blade is marked SHEFFIELD STAINLESS STEEL. A serving piece is engraved with the phrase Season’s Greetings on the face of the implement. Several items feature a gold-toned finish, which may indicate a gold wash or vermeil plating. While maker marks on the reverse of handles are present, they are not clearly legible in the images; however, patterns suggest attributions to Oneida Community and Gorham.
Largest serving pieces measure approximately 9 to 10 inches in length.
Condition report:
The items show significant tarnish and wear consistent with age and regular use. Many pieces exhibit bleeding of the base metal through the silver plating, particularly on high-wear areas like spoon bowls and fork tines. Surface scratches and small abrasions are present throughout the lot.
