A Victorian style upholstered high-back rocking chair, attributed to the Statesville Chair Company based on design consensus. The chair is constructed from mahogany-stained hardwood and features a tall, slightly raked back with a scrolled top rail. The design includes distinctive open arms elegantly carved into deep scrolls, often referred to as swan neck arms. Both the seat and back are fully padded and upholstered in a traditional tapestry fabric showcasing a repeating red and green floral motif within a cream-colored diamond lattice pattern. The upholstery is finished with a coordinating decorative gimp trim along the edges. The chair rests on standard curved wooden rockers.
