Description
This vintage western-style hat was manufactured by the Willard Hat Co. of Dallas, Texas. The item is constructed from tan felt, with the interior sweatband identifying the material as Buckskin Felts. The design features a cattleman crease crown and a curved brim. A thin matching grosgrain ribbon hatband with a bow detail trims the base of the crown. The interior is fitted with a cream satin lining and a brown leather sweatband. Markings include a green stamp in the center of the crown lining for the Silver Nugget model. The sweatband is embossed with silver-tone text reading Buckskin Felts and Made by Willard Hat Co. Dallas, Tex. Additionally, the sweatband bears a white printed retailer mark for Hebert’s Western Wear Sulphur, La. A small red decorative bow is located at the rear of the interior sweatband.
Condition report:
Fair to Good. The felt exterior shows minor surface soiling and localized faint staining. The ribbon hatband ends are significantly frayed. The interior satin lining displays prominent green staining and color transfer in the crown area. The leather sweatband shows moderate wear, including darkening, creasing, and minor cracking.
