Description
A set of coins comprising the 1971 US Mint Uncirculated Coin Set in original government packaging. The set contains 11 coins and one plastic token, including Kennedy half dollar, Washington quarter, Roosevelt dime, Jefferson nickel, and Lincoln cent denominations from the Philadelphia and Denver mints. The Philadelphia issues are sealed in a red-bordered plastic packet with a red and white Bureau of the Mint token. The Denver issues, marked with a D mint mark, are sealed in a blue-bordered plastic packet containing two Lincoln cents. Coins from five cents to fifty cents are composed of copper-nickel clad copper, while the cents are 95 percent copper bronze. The set is accompanied by the original Treasury Department mailing envelope from the United States Assay Office in San Francisco, labeled 1971 – U. C.
Condition report:
The coins are in uncirculated condition, exhibiting original mint luster and minor contact marks typical of production. The cellophane packaging is original and remains sealed. The mailing envelope shows light toning and minor wear consistent with age.
