Lot 52:
Description
A group of US silver quarter dollars of the Washington design type, catalog reference KM# 164. The collection includes coins dated 1941, 1943, 1948, 1957, and 1959. Each specimen is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. Denver mint marks (D) are visible on the reverse of the 1941, 1943, and 1959 specimens below the olive branches. The 1948 and 1957 specimens lack mint marks, indicating production at the Philadelphia Mint. These coins are representative of the silver coinage often marketed by the Littleton Coin Company. These coins were produced under the 90% silver standard used for US quarters prior to 1965.
Condition report:
Circulated. The coins exhibit moderate to heavy wear on the high points of the designs, with grades ranging from good to very fine. Surface marks, small scratches, and areas of dark toning are present, particularly on the earlier dates.
