Description
1887 US Morgan silver dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This coin features the Morgan Liberty obverse and the heraldic eagle reverse. The composition is 90 percent silver. The obverse includes the date 1887 and the legend E PLURIBUS UNUM. The reverse features the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR. No mint mark is present above the DO in DOLLAR. The 1887 Philadelphia issue is a common date with a mintage of over 20 million coins.
Condition report:
Uncirculated. The coin retains original mint luster with subtle golden-brown toning along the lower peripheral edges. Numerous contact marks and surface abrasions are present in the fields and on the cheek of the portrait.
