Description
This framed textile artwork features suspected silk, but unsure of thread compositin embroidery on a chartreuse-colored silk fabric support. The composition is a floral still life depicting chrysanthemums in various stages of bloom, rendered in shades of orange, yellow, white, and pale green with multi-toned green foliage. The embroidery utilizes varied stitch techniques to articulate the textures of the petals and leaves. The background shows characteristic natural slubs throughout. The piece is housed in a dark-finished frame with a thin, gold-toned inner fillet. No signatures, dates, or manufacturer marks are visible on the front of the work.
