Description
A single Shaker-style ladder-back side chair constructed from stained hardwood showing graining consistent with oak. The design features a three-slat ladder back with curved horizontal rails. The vertical posts are decorated with evenly spaced incised rings and topped with simple turned finials. The seat is hand-woven in a blue and light-gray checkerboard pattern using fabric tape, a characteristic feature of Shaker-style furniture. The chair stands on turned legs that taper toward the base, joined by double stretchers on the front and sides and a single stretcher in the back. The front and side stretchers include central bulbous turnings. No maker’s marks or labels were identified during inspection.

Condition report:
The chair appears to be in very good condition. The wood finish is consistent with very few signs of wear. The woven tape seat is taut and shows no visible fraying or staining. The frame is structurally sound.
