Description
This lot consists of sixteen hand-carved and hand-painted wooden holiday figures and decorative items, primarily depicting various iterations of Santa Claus and St. Nicholas. The collection showcases a variety of late 20th-century American folk art styles, ranging from elongated primitive carvings to flat-profile shelf-sitters and rounded figurines. Included are two patriotic Uncle Sam figures: one tall and cylindrical and another large, flat-profile figure decorated with stars and stripes. The lot also features a St. Nicholas in a blue robe with a staff and lantern, a stylized white Christmas tree, and a small wooden sled with a painted snowman.
Construction materials consist of hand-carved wood with hand-painted details. Certain pieces incorporate mixed media elements such as fiber for beards and metal for the lantern handle. At least one item, a small rounded Santa head, bears a handwritten signature on the base in cursive ink reading Christopher Lei Montague, dated @ 1996, accompanied by a stylized scroll flourish.

Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. As hand-carved and hand-painted objects, the pieces exhibit natural variations in wood grain, texture, and finish. Visible wear is consistent with age and handling, including minor surface scuffs, light paint loss, and small abrasions. No significant chips, cracks, or evidence of restoration were observed during inspection.
