Description
A set of three contemporary folk art rabbit figurines, hand-carved and painted in an anthropomorphic style. The rabbits are depicted in standing positions and attired in Victorian-style clothing. One rabbit wears a dark blue jacket with a white collar, red bowtie, and a light blue top hat. A second rabbit is dressed in a purple jacket over a pink shirt with a red necktie. The third rabbit wears a bright red jacket featuring a yellow collar and a light blue cravat. The figurines exhibit a textured surface with fine vertical striations from the carving process under hand-applied paint. The underside of the rabbit in the purple jacket is incised with the mark JK ’92. The underside of the rabbit in the red jacket features an incised circular monogram, appearing to consist of the letters LDK above the year ’93.
Height: 9.25 inches to 9.5 inches.
Condition report:
The set is in generally good condition. Minor age-appropriate wear is visible, including small scuffs and paint loss on the high points of the carving. The bases show some adhesive residue and surface soiling from previous display. No major chips, cracks, or repairs are noted.
