Description
A group of four hand-carved and painted wooden folk art figures and objects by Joe Kovalovich. The collection includes a sperm whale figure painted white with a red and blue fluke, mounted on a metal rod above a black rectangular wooden base; a tall male figure in colonial-style attire holding a wooden paddle; a smaller female figure with dark-toned skin wearing a green shirt and yellow skirt; and a rooster with a weathered white finish and red comb, mounted to a circular blue base. Each piece features intentional surface distressing, including sanded edges and paint thinning, to evoke an aged appearance. The underside of the whale’s wooden base is marked with two ink stamps reading HANDCRAFTED BY and JOE KOVALOVICH.

Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition. The painted surfaces show intentional weathering and minor scuffs consistent with the artist\'s folk art style and intended aesthetic.
