Description
This group of folk art objects includes a set of round wooden nesting boxes and a pig-themed sculpture. The boxes are crafted from wood with hand-painted decorative elements throughout. The lids feature several different motifs including a flying figure with a horn, a praying angel, and characters in attire resembling a circus ringmaster and Uncle Sam. The sides of the boxes are decorated with red stars, horizontal stripes, and vertical red and white stripes. The accompanying sculpture is a pink-painted wooden frame with a sculpted pig head and hindquarters. The frame is built to serve as a holder for a commercial food tin, and it currently contains a can of SPAM. No maker marks or signatures are present on these items.
