Description
This lot comprises a collection of approximately 50 vintage hand-carved wooden miniature figures and ark models. The set is rendered in a folk art style, characterized by simplified forms and hand-applied polychrome paint. The collection features two distinct ark models, including a larger vessel painted red with a yellow roof and a smaller model in a natural wood finish. Human figures include a representation of Noah with a long white beard and a second smaller human figure mounted on a blue base. The extensive menagerie includes numerous animals, many appearing in pairs, such as elephants in various sizes and colors, giraffes, zebras, rhinoceroses, hippopotamuses, camels, bears, lions, skunks, turtles, crocodiles, and various birds, including a dove and a seal. The style and construction of the pieces are consistent with folk art designs attributed to makers such as Wolf Creek.
