Lot 77:
Description
A collection of hand-painted wood architectural miniatures produced by Brandywine Woodcrafts, depicting historic structures from Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. The pieces are executed in a folk-art style, featuring red brick-patterned facades and dark gray roofs with dormer windows. Three primary structures in the group are identified by hand-written inscriptions on their bases: Carters Grove (bearing a 1987 copyright), Lightfoot Kitchen (bearing a 1986 copyright), and Lightfoot House (bearing a 1983 copyright). These three specific pieces are hand-signed in black ink Tru and Marlene Whiting 92 and retain their original circular yellow labels for Brandywine Woodcrafts, Yorktown, VA. The miniatures are detailed with white-painted windows and doors. The group also includes several smaller, unsigned ancillary structures and a larger textured base resembling a brick, which is inscribed April 11, 1971.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. Minor surface wear and faint scuffs are present on some edges and corners of the wooden blocks. The hand-painted decoration is well-preserved with no notable paint loss or flaking.
