Description
An assortment of contemporary folk art decorative objects featuring Americana themes, constructed primarily of painted wood and metal. The collection includes a slender carved wooden Noah figure with a white fiber beard and hair, wearing a red and blue robe and holding a small sign inscribed Noah and Co. and God Keeps His Promises. A rustic metal birdhouse with a star-decorated roof hangs from a black wrought-iron stand with a floral finial. The set also features a wooden mechanical balance toy, labeled Circus 1886 on a yellow medallion, which sits atop a small white and blue stool with star decorations. Included are two wooden scarecrow figures on bases, one female in a green polka-dot dress and one male in a plaid shirt, both with birds perched on their arms. A stylized wooden giraffe pull toy painted white with yellow spots is mounted on a four-wheeled base. Two miniature painted wooden buildings are present, representing a watermill and a Redware Pottery shop. The finishes across the collection are intentionally distressed and weathered.
