Description
This still-life oil painting on stretched canvas depicts a traditional tabletop arrangement set against a dark, moody background. The composition features a glass of red wine, a straw-wrapped wine bottle known as a fiasco, a small copper kettle, three apples, a cluster of blue grapes with leaves, and a single lemon wedge, all resting on a draped white tablecloth. The work is executed in a realist style with blended brushwork and textured impasto highlights on the fruit and glassware. No signature is visible on the front of the painting. It is housed in a deeply molded, tiered wooden frame with a cream-colored linen inner liner. The verso of the frame is covered in brown paper and bears a small, handwritten paper label reading Mr. Frank Kingsberry / Drexel Hill Club. The upper edge of the wooden frame is stamped with the numbers 12X16 and the text TYPE 126 OCRE.
