Description
A late 19th to early 20th-century child’s potty chair, or commode chair, constructed from a reddish-brown stained hardwood. The design shows Arts and Crafts influence, featuring square-cut legs, a three-slat backrest, and pyramid-shaped finials on the rear posts. A pivoting swing-over wooden tray with a raised rim is attached to the rear stiles with metal pins. The seat features a central circular aperture that accommodates a removable white enameled metal chamber pot. The front of the chair is finished with a modesty panel. The piece is assembled using mortise and tenon joinery. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the wood surfaces or the chamber pot.

This item is in good antique condition. The wood finish shows characteristic surface wear, minor scuffs, and small indentations consistent with age and use.
