Description
This vintage lawn game collection features a standard six-player croquet set constructed primarily of wood. The set includes six long-handled mallets with cylindrical heads, each decorated with matching multi-colored horizontal bands in black, yellow, green, red, and blue. A dark-stained wooden floor stand is provided, designed with custom slots to hold the mallets, balls, and stakes. The rack currently holds five wooden croquet balls, each finished with white stripe detailing in green, black, red, yellow, and dark red. Also included are two wooden goal stakes with multi-colored bands and a bundle of white-coated metal wickets. Accompanying the rack is a red zippered nylon carrying bag containing an assortment of additional Bocce balls, including several modern composite replacements in various colors and other miscellaneous game components.
Condition report:
The set is in well-used vintage condition, exhibiting wear consistent with age and active play. All wooden components, including the mallets, balls, and stakes, show significant paint loss, surface scuffs, impact marks from use, and accumulated surface dirt. The striking faces of the mallet heads show typical wear. The wooden storage rack displays surface scratches, wear to the finish, and dust. The red nylon carrying bag is heavily soiled and shows signs of extensive use. The collection contains a mix of original vintage pieces and newer replacement components.
