Lot 209:
Description
This is a pair of contemporary armchairs designed in the traditional English roll-arm style, closely resembling the Alana model by Jennifer Taylor Home made by Martha Stewart – Bernhardt. Each chair is upholstered in a terracotta or burnt orange colored velvet fabric. The construction features a tight, slightly slanted backrest and low, recessed rolled arms. Each chair includes a loose, T-shaped removable seat cushion and is accompanied by a matching rectangular lumbar pillow with piped edges. The lower base of each frame is finished with a continuous row of brass-toned metal nailhead trim. Each chair is raised on two front turned wooden legs with a dark mahogany-stained finish and two rear square-tapered legs. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the chairs.
Condition report:
The chairs are in good overall condition. The velvet upholstery shows no visible stains, tears, or significant fading. There is minor compression of the velvet pile on the seat cushions and armrests consistent with light use. The wooden feet are intact with minimal surface scuffing.
