Description
This lot features a Martha Washington style sewing cabinet and a primitive wooden step stool. The sewing cabinet is a Federal Revival style work stand with a mahogany finish. It is designed with a central bank of three drawers fitted with brass-tone circular knobs. The body includes two deep, semi-elliptical side compartments, known as pockets, which are accessed by hinged wooden lids. The cabinet is supported by four slender legs with turned and fluted detailing. The primitive step stool is of simple utilitarian construction with a rectangular top and four splayed, tapered legs. No maker marks or labels are visible on either piece.

Stool dimensions: 9 x 12 x 8 inches.
Condition report:
The sewing cabinet is in good vintage condition with minor surface scuffs and light wear to the finish consistent with age. The step stool shows significant signs of age and heavy use, including loss of finish on the top surface, staining, and scratches, contributing to a well-used patina.
