Description
A vintage two-piece lounging or hostess set consisting of a tunic-style top and matching trousers, dating to the mid-20th century. The set is constructed from pink satin with contrasting aqua satin trim. The tunic features a standing Mandarin collar with cream lace edging and an asymmetrical wrap closure across the chest. This closure is defined by an aqua satin band decorated with five pink fabric flower buttons. The front of the tunic is embellished with a large embroidered peacock perched on a flowering branch, rendered in shades of blue, turquoise, red, and gold. The long sleeves have aqua piped cuffs, and a single patch pocket with aqua trim is located on the lower right side. The trousers are designed with a wide-leg silhouette and an elasticized waistband with an aqua satin casing. No manufacturer labels are present.
Condition report:
Several small dark stains are visible on the front chest area near the embroidery and on the lower right pocket. Light discoloration is present on the lower right sleeve. The fabric exhibits significant creasing throughout from storage.
