Description
A child’s rocking chair manufactured by the Lloyd Manufacturing Company in Menominee, Michigan. The chair is constructed using the patented Lloyd Loom process, which involves weaving twisted kraft paper reinforced with wire over a frame. It features a barrel-back design with continuous integrated arms and a woven skirt, finished in a cream-colored paint. The chair is supported by a cross-stretcher base and curved wooden rockers. A loose-fitting seat cushion is included, upholstered in a vintage floral fabric with a palette of orange, yellow, and green. An embossed metal manufacturer’s label is affixed to the rear frame beneath the seat and is transcribed as follows: Pat. Process Lloyd LOOM Products / Baby Carriages & Furniture / MENOMINEE, MICHIGAN / METHOD PATENTED OCT. 16, 1917 / OTHER PATENTS PENDING.

Condition report:
The chair is in good antique condition, showing signs of wear consistent with age and use. There is minor paint loss and surface soiling throughout the frame. A notable area of damage is present on the front of the left armrest, where several wicker strands are broken or missing. The upholstery appears intact with minor fading.
