Description
An assortment of fourteen holiday decorations including one musical figurine and thirteen hanging ornaments composed of various materials. The musical figurine features a glazed ceramic teddy bear dressed in a Santa Claus suit and hat waving one paw, mounted on a cream colored base. The base includes a metal winding key, an on/off switch, and is marked with a clear Otagiri Japan label. The ornament collection includes two porcelain pieces manufactured by Schmid and designed by Gordon Fraser dated 1984, depicting a Canada goose in a basket and Santa Claus with reindeer and birds. A flat ceramic Santa ornament in a blue robe is marked Monet. A brightly colored, high relief molded dough ornament by Calliope Designs features Santa and bears in a sleigh, while two smaller molded dough ornaments are marked Dogg 83. Other items in the lot include a painted ceramic Santa figure carrying a tree marked Vivie, a silver tone satin glass ribbed sphere, a black lacquered ball with floral patterns, and three small reddish brown wooden gingerbread style figures joined by a red string.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age and handling. There are small areas of paint loss, particularly on the molded dough ornaments. The musical mechanism on the Otagiri figurine has not been tested for functionality.
