Description
This framed textile artwork, titled An American Memory, is a contemporary folk-style piece featuring Americana motifs and signed with a stylized monogram HK. The piece is composed of fabric scraps appliqued and stitched onto a white quilted ground, which is then mounted onto a navy blue fabric border. The central composition depicts a stylized American flag with a star-patterned field and a striped field containing a stitched heart outline. Below the flag is a grid of six distinct hearts, each created from various patterned fabrics including florals, checks, and stars. The artwork is housed in a wide, dark brown wooden frame under glass with a light tan textile mat. The reverse side features a brown paper backing with a gold oval label for Goddard’s Williamsburg SHOP. Below the label, the piece is inscribed in black ink: AN AMERICAN MEMORY followed by a stylized HK monogram.

Condition report:
The item shows minor signs of wear consistent with age and display. The wooden frame has small surface nicks and scuffs along the edges. The brown paper backing on the reverse has a small puncture hole near the bottom center. The textile itself appears to be in good condition, protected behind glass.
