Description
A framed work print of ink and color on paper by artist Tong Shiang. The composition depicts a long-tailed paradise flycatcher perched upon the branch of a maple tree featuring vibrant red autumnal foliage. The work is executed in the gongbi style characterized by fine line work and layered washes. The right side of the painting includes a column of Chinese calligraphic characters and two red square artist seals. A signature in Latin script reading Tong Shia is located in the lower right corner. The painting is housed in a dark-stained wood frame with a green mat. The reverse features a printed label from Framed Picture Enterprise, a division of B.K.F. Mfg. in Memphis, Tennessee, with a handwritten date of 2-H and order number 5159.
