Description
This work by David Lee depicts five large red poppies with dark centers, rendered in watercolor and gouache on toned paper. The composition is accented with stylized blue and green foliage, blending contemporary aesthetics with traditional East Asian brushwork. The painting is signed in the lower left DAVID LEE above the date 78. Adjacent to the signature is a red square artist seal and a vertical column of three Chinese characters. The artwork is housed in a carved wooden frame featuring a gold-toned inner fillet and a light cream-colored mat.
