Lot 195:
Description
A set of thirteen glazed ceramic pieces featuring blue transfer-printed decoration on a white ground. The group primarily displays the traditional Willow pattern, depicting a landscape with pagodas, a bridge, willow trees, and two birds in flight. The assortment includes two circular plates, a rectangular covered butter dish with a coordinating base, a narrow rectangular serving tray with geometric borders, one cylindrical salt or pepper shaker, and one large breakfast cup decorated with a landscape scene. Also included is a cylindrical mug featuring a contrasting scrolling floral and foliate design, four small footless tea bowls with interior and exterior decoration, two saucers, and one shallow berry bowl. The transfer application varies slightly in tone and detail across the pieces, suggesting a mixed assembly. No manufacturer names, logos, or marks are visible on the exterior surfaces of the items shown in the provided photographs.
Condition report:
The ceramics appear to be in good condition based on the overview images (photos 1 and 2). No chips, cracks, or significant surface abrasions are visible on the rims, handles, or lids of the pieces. The transfer-printed designs are clear and well-saturated. Some minor manufacturing variations in the transfer application may be present, consistent with the production method.
