Description
This is an Elgin National Watch Co. open-face pocket watch featuring a manual wind movement. The white porcelain enamel dial is signed ELGIN and displays bold black Arabic numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, and a sunken sub-seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. The watch is equipped with blued steel moon-style hands. The gold-filled case was produced by Fahys and features an engine-turned pattern on the exterior case back with a vacant central cartouche. The interior of the case back is marked with the Fahys anchor logo and is inscribed MONTAUK, GUARANTEED 20 YEARS, with serial number 10684809. The nickel-finished movement is a Grade 303, featuring 7 jewels. The movement plates are clearly marked ELGIN NATL WATCH CO., U.S.A., and 22202240.
Case diameter: Approx. 45mm excluding pendant.
Condition report:
The porcelain dial exhibits fine hairline fractures visible near the 7 and 8 o\'clock markers. The gold-filled case shows light surface scratches and minor wear consistent with age.
