Description
This vintage folding travel clock features a circular gilt dial housed within a textured black leather easel case. The dial displays stylized black Arabic numerals and an outer minute track, with the hands featuring luminescent-filled openwork centers. The center of the dial is marked 8 DAYS and the bottom edge is marked SWISS. The clock unit is mounted in a brass-toned metal frame within the leather enclosure, which is lined with a purple silk or satin fabric. A winding and setting crown is located at the 6 o’clock position, protruding from the bottom of the circular clock housing. The folding case allows the clock to stand upright for bedside or desk use.
Condition report:
The black leather case exhibits moderate to heavy wear, particularly along the edges and hinges where the finish has worn away. The purple fabric lining shows fading and signs of age. The gilt dial surface has developed a light patina and minor spotting. The luminescent material on the hands has darkened significantly. The mechanical movement is untested, and the current working status is unknown.
