A collection of commemorative bronze-toned base metal medals representing religious, fraternal, and military themes. The group includes medals issued for the Sesquicentennial Celebration of the Organization of the Methodist Episcopal Church in America (1784-1934), featuring the Garrettson Leaving Barratt’s Chapel reverse. Also included is an Irving Berlin commemorative medal from the Famous Masons series dated 1998, struck for the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, featuring the Latin motto Spes Mea In Deo Est. The group further features a Vietnam Veterans Memorial medal with a Vietnam The Wall obverse and a star and wreath reverse inscribed American.
Condition report:
The Methodist Episcopal Church medals exhibit significant environmental damage including heavy green verdigris, surface oxidation, and wear. The Irving Berlin medal is in uncirculated condition with original luster and minimal surface marks. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial medal shows light circulated wear and even toning. Medals are housed in cardboard flips, a plastic capsule, and a plastic bag.
