Description
This lot consists of two United States Eisenhower Bicentennial one dollar coins, dual-dated 1776-1976. These specimens feature an aftermarket gold-plated finish applied for promotional or commemorative purposes. The obverse displays the Eisenhower profile with the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse depicts the Liberty Bell superimposed over the moon, surrounded by the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR, the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the designer initials DRW for Dennis R. Williams. The coins are presented in black cardboard flips featuring silver foil lettering that reads SUN BANK and BICENTENNIAL DOLLAR. These coins are composed of copper-nickel clad material with an external gold plating. No mint marks are visible through the plating.
Condition report:
Both coins are in uncirculated condition relative to their modified state, exhibiting high reflective luster from the gold plating. Minor surface scuffs, hairline scratches, and small contact marks are visible on the obverse and reverse fields of both specimens. The cardboard flips show light handling wear and minor aging.
