Description
A Federal style demilune console table constructed from mahogany with mahogany veneers and light wood inlays. The semicircular top features a light wood string inlay border following the curve of the edge. The curved apron is finished with vertical-grain mahogany veneers and a central decorative inlaid oval patera in a contrasting light wood. The table is supported by four square tapered legs. The construction and finish suggest a 20th-century reproduction in the Hepplewhite taste. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the piece.
Condition report:
The top surface exhibits significant condition issues, including multiple large, prominent circular water marks and areas of finish clouding and loss. The apron and legs are in generally good condition with minor surface scratches and wear consistent with age and use.
