Description
An American Queen Anne style mahogany tilt-top side table or candle stand. The piece features a solid mahogany top with a decorative scalloped edge and rounded corners. The top is mounted on a tilting mechanism with a functional circular brass latch and double-cleat support system on the underside. It is supported by a central turned baluster-form pedestal, which terminates in a tripod base of three cabriole legs ending in snake feet. The wood shows a reddish-brown patina with a visible grain pattern on the top surface. No maker marks, signatures, or labels were detected on the base, underside, or body of the piece.
Dimensions: Height 26 – 28 inches (approximate).
Condition report:
The table is in good overall condition. The finish is well-preserved with a soft luster. Visible minor surface wear includes light scratches and small scuffs on the legs and edges, consistent with age and careful use. The tilting mechanism is intact and functional.
