Description
An Aug. Schatz and Sohne German torsion pendulum clock, commonly referred to as a 400-day or anniversary clock. The construction features a brass-finished metal frame with three cream-colored supporting pillars and a matching cream-colored outer ring on the circular base. The underside of the base is made of molded dark brown resin or Bakelite. The clock is housed under a clear glass dome and features a torsion pendulum with four spherical weights. The cream-colored dial is decorated with a printed floral garland of red roses and blue-green foliage, featuring black Arabic numerals and ornate black filigree hands. The dial is marked Schatz and Made in Germany. The rear brass movement plate is stamped TWO (2) JEWELS UNADJUSTED, AUG. SCHATZ and SOHNE GERMANY, and includes a small circular mark containing the number 53. The underside of the base is impressed Made in Germany.

Condition report:
The clock is in good aesthetic condition with minor oxidation and surface tarnish visible on the brass-finished components. There is light age-related wear to the cream-colored finishes on the pillars and base. The glass dome is intact without visible cracks or chips. The torsion suspension wire is present; however, the mechanical working status is unknown and has not been tested.
