Description
A hand-carved and painted wooden ice fishing decoy representing a striped bass. The decoy features a tapered wooden body with painted horizontal dark stripes over a weathered white and gray ground. It is detailed with yellow glass eyes with black pupils and four inserted metal fins. A rusted metal eyelet is mounted to the dorsal surface for line attachment. The underside reveals a circular inset lead weight used for balancing. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the object.

Condition report:
The item exhibits signs of age and utilitarian use, including widespread paint loss, surface abrasions, and scuffing. Oxidation is visible on the metal fins and the eyelet.
